  • How do I know if I have weak executive function skills?
The most evidence-based avenue is to undergo a neuropsychological evaluation conducted by a psychiatrist. While these evaluations are accurate and produce a comprehensive analysis of your brain's strengths and weaknesses, they are very expensive, ranging from hundreds to thousands of dollars. If you are looking for a faster, less detailed approach to answering this question, I recommend completing a self-assessment. Keep in mind, the results of these informal assessments are not designed to diagnose and do not guarantee accurate results. You can discover three, evidence based self assessments in our blog post, "How to Assess Your Executive Function Skills as an Adult (For Free)".
  • How much does executive function coaching cost?
While coaches set their own rates, our research found the average coach charges $185 per session. Unfortunately, insurance does not cover executive function coaching but, if you have a diagnosis, your coach might be able to provide you with information that you can use to try to get your sessions covered. • How does ADHD impact executive functions?
ADHD is a deficit of executive function. ADHD impacts on executive function can vary widely among individuals, with some experiencing more difficulties in certain areas than others. In children with ADHD, executive function skills are typically delayed by two or three years. This delay persists into adulthood if these skills are not explicitly taught, practiced, and monitored. According to ADDitude, ADHD, the executive functions skills of a person with ADHD is often 30–40% behind their peers.
